Welcome!

My name is Dimitris Souravlias and I am with the Port of Rotterdam where I work as a data scientist. Prior to that I was a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Maritime and Transport Technology, Delft University of Technology, Delft, The Netherlands, and the Logistics Management Department, Helmut-Schmidt University, Hamburg, Germany. I hold a PhD from the Department of Computer Science & Engineering, University of Ioannina, Greece. During my PhD studies, I spent two months at the Heuristic and Evolutionary Algorithms Laboratory, University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria, Hagenberg, Austria where I worked as a research intern.

• Our paper titled "Hybrid Differential Evolution Algorithm for the Resource Constrained Project Scheduling Problem with a Flexible Project Structure and Consumption and Production of Resources" has been accepted to the European Journal of Operational Research.
• I have passed the certification exam, and I am now a Neo4j certified professional.
• I am very excited to share that I joined the Port of Rotterdam as a data scientist.
• Our book titled "Algorithm Portfolios: Advances, Applications, and Challenges" has been accepted to SpringerBriefs in Optimization Series.
• I gave a guest lecture on Metaheuristics for the MSc course Quantitative Methods for Logistics, Department of Maritime and Transport Technology, Delft University of Technology, on December 16, 2020.
• Our paper titled "Design Framework for a Modular Floating Container Terminal" has been accepted to the Journal of Frontiers in Marine Science, Ocean Solutions.
• Two papers have been accepted to the International Conference on Computational Logistics, ICCL 2020, Twente, The Netherlands.

• I have started working on a new research project, titled "Platform-Based Cooperation Models for Automated Transportation and Logistics".
• I have co-organized a workshop that took place at the Port of Antwerp on January 29, 2020. The workshop was in the context of the Horizon 2020 Space@Sea project.
• I gave a guest lecture on Metaheuristics for the M.Sc. course Quantitative Methods for Logistics, Department of Maritime and Transport Technology, Delft University of Technology, on December 17, 2019.
• Dr. Neil Yorke-Smith has invited me to present my research at the breakout session of the Tracks in Transport conference, Delft University of Technology, on November 6, 2019.
• Our paper titled "Stochastic floating quay crane scheduling on offshore platforms: a simheuristic approach" has been accepted to the 21th International Conference on Harbor, Maritime and Multimodal Logistic Modelling and Simulation, HMS 2019, Lisbon, Portugal.
• I have served as a member of the Program Committee of the 3rd International Conference on Intelligent Traffic and Transportation, ICITT 2019, Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
• Dr. Yingqian Zhang has invited me to present my research at the Information Systems (IS) group, Eindhoven University of Technology, on September 24, 2019.
• I have started working on the Horizon 2020 Space@Sea project.
